Funding Available – Proposition 1B Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program (Program)

Five local agencies are offering financial incentives to owners of trucks and transport refrigeration equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies through replacement or repower projects. These funds are available for eligible equipment operating primarily in the four priority trade corridors in the Bay Area, Central Valley, Los Angeles/Inland Empire, and San Diego/Border corridors. Incentives for infrastructure projects will also be offered. The local agencies will be accepting applications through November 20, 2015. Background:

The Proposition 1B: Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program is a partnership between Air Resources Board (ARB) and local agencies (like air districts and ports) to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along California’s trade corridors. ARB provides funding to eligible agencies; those agencies then offer financial incentives to owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies prior to regulatory requirements.
